We now have an exciting opportunity for a
Financial Accounts Manager to join our Finance Shared Service Centre at our UK & Ireland Corporate Head Office in Carrington.
The role
Responsibilities
As Financial Accounts Manager, you will lead the Financial Accounts Team and play a key role in shaping a high‑performing, future‑focused finance function. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, developing and inspiring the Financial Accounts Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and supporting finance transformation initiatives
- Overseeing the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT and Plastic Packaging Tax returns, while driving process improvements
- Leading significant aspects of the Head Office budgeting and forecasting cycle, alongside monthly KPI reporting
- Reviewing existing processes to identify key risks and ensuring strong compliance with internal controls, internal audit and external audit requirements
- Managing HQ accounts for Pack, Flex and Natur, including oversight of accounting entries for each business unit
- Controlling central costs and recharge allocations, providing insightful analysis of group‑level cost drivers
- Managing and coordinating customs, capital expenditure, leases, HMRC compliance and related reporting requirements
- Coordinating Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) activity to ensure statutory compliance
Candidate profile
Skills
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who can bring strong technical ability alongside excellent leadership skills. You will ideally have:
- A recognised professional qualification and degree (or equivalent)
- Strong people‑management capability with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced Excel skills and strong working knowledge of SAP
- Experience across all key balance sheet reconciliation activities, including bank reconciliations, VAT & HMRC submissions, CAPEX and control accounts
- Detailed understanding of VAT, CAPEX, HMRC compliance and wider taxation matters
- A proven track record of delivering high‑quality financial analysis and meeting tight deadlines
