Location: Roanoke Rapids, NC
Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our Roanoke Rapids Mill team is seeking experienced
Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to help maintain and repair state-of-the-art paperboard manufacturing equipment.
Pay Range: $31.19 – $41.56 per hour (based on education and experience)
What You’ll Do
- Work alongside experienced mentors to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for unplanned shutdowns.
- Maintain and troubleshoot advanced control systems (DCS, PLC).
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for process control systems.
- Complete work orders, documentation, and change control procedures accurately.
- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines.
Mechanical Responsibilities May Include
- Valve and gasket replacement, pump repair/repacking, welding (basic), forklift operation, pipe and tubing installation, cylinder and motor repair, and maintenance of mechanical drive systems.
What You Need To Succeed
- Minimum age: 18
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Two-year technical degree, registered apprenticeship, or equivalent formal training
- 3+ years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
- Multi-skilled maintenance background (mechanical and electrical)
- Knowledge of mechanical drives, pumps, seals, hydraulics, and lubrication
- Welding experience (stick, MIG, TIG)
- Machine shop skills (lathes, boring, balancing, CNC)
- Ability to work weekends/holidays and in varying conditions (heat, noise, indoor/outdoor)
