You will be managing and leading end-to-end Import, Export, Customs Compliance, and Supply Planning operations for India. The role is responsible for international trade execution, customs clearance, freight management, planning support, foreign trade policy scheme administration, supplier coordination, compliance governance, and process optimization. The position works closely with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, banks, DGFT authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted supply, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and delivery of key supply chain performance KPIs.
Jobresponsibilities include:
Import Operations
Lead end-to-end import operations for India with 40+ overseas suppliers and 180+ SKUs.
Manage import shipment planning, booking, tracking, customs clearance and final delivery
Coordinate closely with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, CHA partners, KC regional teams, and customs authorities
Manage Direct and Indirect Material imports with complete customs compliance
Handle re-imports, returnable imports and temporary imports under bond
Process imports under FTA, Advance Authorization, EPCG and AEO schemes
Manage annual LCL Forwarding & Clearance RFQ activities and contracting
Drive freight optimization and logistics cost improvement initiatives.
Conduct periodic CHA performance reviews and implement corrective actions.
Handle insurance claims related to import shipments and logistics incidents.
Ensure timely import payments and customs duty settlements
· Responsible for Product Landing Cost Calculation and Annual Landing Cost Budgeting aligned with Annual Business Plan (ABP) targets, including duty optimization, freight cost analysis, foreign exchange impact assessment and cost variance monitoring to support profitability
Customs Compliance & Trade Governance
Ensure full compliance with Customs RACI, Indian Customs Regulations, Foreign Trade Policy and local statutory requirements
Drive continuous improvement in Import/Export processes through SOP implementation, standardization and documentation control.
Streamline customs operations aligned with business requirements while maintaining compliance standards
Lead customs audit preparedness and manage internal/external compliance reviews
Ensure proper customs classification, valuation, and record management
Manage Electronic Cash Ledger activities and customs duty reconciliation
Maintain customs process governance and support global compliance initiatives
Foreign Trade Policy & Special Schemes
Export Operations
Manage merchant exports in compliance with Customs, DGFT and RBI regulations
Coordinate export shipment booking, documentation, clearance, and dispatch
Coordinate with banks and finance teams for export proceeds realization.
Ensure complete export documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Planning & Master Data Management
Work closely with Demand Planning and overseas suppliers to ensure supply continuity and risk mitigation
Coordinate supplier commitments and shipment readiness against business requirements
Create and communicate Purchase Orders based on planning requirements
Support New Product Development (NPD) imports and launch activities
Participate in supply review planning meetings
To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Commerce, Logistics, International Business, or Business Administration.
Certified EXIM, PGDFT, Customs Compliance, or Supply Chain qualifications preferred.
6–8 years of experience in Import, Export, Customs Compliance, International Trade, and Supply Planning.
Deep knowledge of: Indian Customs Act, Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), DGFT Regulations, RBI Trade Regulations, FTA Rules of Origin, EPCG, Duty Drawback, RoDTEP & AEO Programs
Hands-on experience in IDPMS and EDPMS management.
Strong understanding of customs valuation, classification, documentation, and audit requirements.
Experience in SAP (MM/SD), Excel, and supply chain systems.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven track record in process improvement, compliance management, and supply chain optimization.
