What You’ll Be Doing
As a Transport Planner, you will plan and coordinate transportation services to ensure materials and products are delivered on time, safely, and cost-effectively.
You’ll take ownership of logistics performance, supplier relationships, and transport optimisation, ensuring seamless alignment with operational and customer needs.
Day to Day You’ll
- Plan daily transport schedules to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery
- Coordinate closely with production, warehousing, and customer service teams
- Manage haulier performance, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
- Optimise routes, loads, and transport modes to reduce costs and carbon footprint
- Monitor KPIs such as cost per tonne, cost per mile, and delivery performance
- Maintain accurate logistics data and produce performance reports
- Support transport tenders and monitor market trends
- Promote a strong health & safety culture, ensuring all providers meet HSE requirements
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in transport planning or logistics
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of transport operations and supply chain coordination
- Experience with Transport Management Systems (e.g. SAP, Paragon, Transporeon)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard IT systems
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles
Qualifications (Desirable)
- CIPS, APICS, or equivalent supply chain certification
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport

- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate
- Proactive mindset with a focus on improvement and efficiency
Other Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Turkish language skills (desirable but not essential)
