Smurfit Westrock Paper & Board Logistics Europe (SWPBL) is the central logistics organization of the Paper & Board division in Europe, managing the logistics flow of paper and recovered fiber across Europe, with a freight turnover of more than 300m€ p.a.
Primary Duties
- The role is part of the management team of P&B Logistics
- Managing a team of 7-8 people in different locations (Germany and France mainly)
- Manage all finance & administration aspects of the Paper & Board Logistics operations: compliance, control, financial strategy, preparation of monthly accounts and financial reporting to Group standards, credit & cash management, controlling working capital, carrier onboarding, debtor and creditor invoicing, master data management.
- Develop and implement the necessary policies and procedures.
- Act as an important sparring partner to the European Paper & Board Division Logistics Director
- Manage all internal reporting and divisional review processes and deadlines (e.g. daily, monthly, actuals, rolling forecast, budget). Ensure accuracy of reporting and coordinate all processes with internal stakeholders (Mill Controllers, Cluster controllers, Finance Europe)
- Follow up on specific divisional queries and questions
- Plan and follow up and supervise the financial monitoring program (FMP)
- Contribute to P&B Logistics projects, e.g. investment projects (application, project descriptions, controlling) and CTO projects
- Cooperate with internal contacts (SWPBL team members and rest of SW organization) and external contacts (internal audit, tax advisor, etc.)
- Manage administrative aspects around the transport management system (TMS)
Role Qualifications
- Strong financial academic background (master of economics or auditing)
- Experience participating in and leading multicultural teams (lead team of 7-8 people, based in different locations and be part of management team SWPBL Europe)
- Discipline in respect of meeting divisional deadlines on all target dates, ensuring accuracy of reporting
- High level user of SAP, HFM and MS Office. Power BI or related tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of logistics/transport industry is a plus
- Experience with SOX compliance is a plus
- Confident, strong minded, sound judgement, pro-active and change management minded
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Other European languages are a plus, especially German
- Travelling inside Europe for visiting the team and the management team meetings
