Expand your technical and organizational expertise as a Lead Start up Engineer for North America
As a Lead Start Up Engineer at Valmet. you will apply your skills and experience at the Site Phase of projects for Valmet Tissue Machines. The primary responsibility will be to check-out, verify and start-up in accordance with drawings, instructions, and relevant technical documentation. The role also involves being Valmet's representative towards the client.
In this role major responsibilities will involve the 3 phases of projects:
Engineering & Sourcing phase:
- The Lead Start-Up Engineer plans the check-out of own part of the project, establishes ECO´s, participate in the check-out in the assembly hall, makes a check-out schedule.
- Books the necessary tools and equipment and send them to Site.
- Gives support to project managers during the delivery phase in technical matters both internally and towards the customer.
Site phase:
- The Lead Start-Up Engineer will act as Valmet Start-Up Coordinator in cases where Commissioning Coordinator is not on site or not included in contract.
- The Lead Start-Up Engineer carries out the check-out of own part of project, coordinates, and reports to the Commissioning Coordinator.
- Reporting how the work is progressing and how much resources are being used to the Site manager / Installation Coordinator / Project manager.
- The Lead Start-Up Engineer also reports deviations and is responsible for following up on own part of the punch list.
Guarantee phase:
- The Lead Start-Up Engineer is a support to the Reference Manager that the scope of delivery works in the customer's environment and shall support after takeover until handover to the Service Organization.
- Lead Start-Up Engineer can be given responsibility for carrying out performance guarantee trials at the customer.
Expectations:
Higher education degree in Mechanical, Technical, Pulp and Paper or a closely related field is required. Preferred 2-year minimum experience with project start up engineering or leading projects. Industry-related Project Management experience is essential.
Travel will be required – estimate could reach more than 50%
