Job Responsibilities/Key accountabilities:
- Interpret and analyse the information flows to progress the understanding and engagement of local management and therefore improve decision-making/ profitability.
- Implement change across all areas of the business - where identified - to maximise the benefits of continuous improvement activity. Continuous improvement mindset to act as a driver for change, development & efficiency improvements
- Facilitate change in areas of under-performance, including the assessment of customer profitability, local purchasing decisions and their impact, the assessment and improvement of overall working capital performance and the improvement of efficiency/cost effectiveness of key business processes.
- Support in the analysis of job costing and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of periodical forecasts and budget for the site.
- Assist in the control of all the component parts of working capital and organise appropriate action to ensure it is controlled and minimised in total. To assist with the monitoring, recording and reporting of capital spend against capital projects.
- Support with the preparation of the statutory annual financial statements & reporting. To assist with all internal and external audit requests within the published timescale for these audits
- Support with fixed asset reporting, & transactional activities related to GL, accounts payable and receivables.
- Support with month end close processes including posting journal entries, managing accruals and provisions.
- Support with daily sales reporting and analysis.
- Assist with reviewing, ensuring and further developing internal controls (SOX) and internal audits. Ensure that internal controls are complete, robust and effective to safeguard company assets.
- To undertake any ad-hoc reporting needs of the division when required.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Qualified/ Part Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA/ ACA equivalent) or qualified by experience, especially if worked in manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge in the areas of accounting, controlling, and reporting
- Proactive, hardworking and someone who can build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and be flexible.
- Proficient in MS Packages including competent in Microsoft Excel. Exposure to Power BI
- Flexible individual willing to take on tasks outside the list above and taking ownership of all assigned tasks
